Experience with horses: As a child I was introduced to horses near my family’s cabin in Mackinaw City, which I visited nearly every summer. When I became a little older, my father, who was a Detroit Police Officer, took me to the annual Detroit Police Field Days where I fell in love with the Mounted Police Unit. I told my father that I wanted a horse of my own and he replied jokingly, " When you grow up, you can get a job and get one, " and so I did.
Reason for wanting to join the Mounted Unit: Joining the Mounted Unit was an opportunity that I could not have imagined in my wildest dreams, when the position became available, I thought back to the conversation I had with my father when I was a child and I decided to do what my father instructed me to do!
